Biography
ULF was born in Nice (South of France) in autumn 2006. It is definitely today’s band, with the right sound, taking their influences in 80’s and 90’s hard rock, adding their own feelings. The principle of the band is to make the music that they all love, on which everyone can bring his own touch, with his own musical culture and taste to created this harmony, so specific to the band. Their influences are multiple, going from AEROSMITH to METALLICA, from SMASHING PUMPKINS to MACHINE HEAD, adding RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and NICKELBACK. ULF is composed of Maxx (lead vocals, lead guitars), Red (rhythm guitars, backing vocals), Pierral (Bass, backing vocals) and Sast (drums). To sharpen their style and polish their songs, they toured the local scene of bars and small venues. With their catchy choruses, powerful but melodic tracks, they created a strong fan base and seduced a wide audience in the area. In March 2010, further their unplugged live album which was appraised, they issued a 5-track EP, PIECE OF PROMISE, which contributed to turn the light towards them.
Their first release, ECHO PROMISE(Brennus / Socadisc), filled with rock and metal, was recorded back in 2009 at Art Studio in Nice and had been created as a concept album. Their universe is heavy and furious, softened by a cold melancholy, taking their audience in a journey mixing legends and magic. Ballads and acoustic parts are well represented also as they blend subtly their force with sensitivity to offer a large panel between modern and classic hard rock /rock. As a guest, Thomas CESARIO (STELARIA, ex-FAIRYLAND) came to battle a highly technical and inspired 6-string duel. The world of ULF is now set, it explores all the sides of rock and metal.
Their current objective is to tour extensively, including in foreign countries; shows are already planned where they are willing to defend ECHO PROMISE as soon as it hits the streets, end of August 2010.
